Men at Work has successfully delivered the Temporary Traffic Management for the Christchurch Marathon since 2016.
Every year the planning starts 6 months prior to the Marathon. Men at Work collaborate closely with the Christchurch Marathon, Foam Hand the Event Organisers, CTOC and the Christchurch Emergency Services.
The weekend of the marathon we engage majority of our Christchurch Staff members. The night shift crew pre-set the road closures, the day shift manages the stop/go’s and road closures during the event and another night shift to pack up. The Christchurch Marathon also uses lots of volunteer Marshal's that are briefed on road safety and crowd control during the week before the event.
In 2019 we used over 600 signs, 3387 cones and 54 Road Closures.
Unfortunately, the Marathon was cancelled due to COVID-19 this year but will be held again 11th April 2021
